Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead a specialist team and provide high‑quality financial and performance insight that underpins effective decision‑making across the organisation.
This is a key leadership role, partnering with senior managers and stakeholders to deliver robust analysis, independent challenge and innovative financial solutions that drive improved performance, value for money and statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a specialist finance function and develop new initiatives, ensuring costs, benefits and risks are fully evaluated.
- Act as the lead finance contact for major projects and programmes, safeguarding organisational interests and realising benefits.
- Provide clear, incisive financial and performance analysis to identify inefficiencies and support service improvement.
- Present complex financial and business information to senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Drive innovation in business and performance management.
- Assess and manage strategic and financial risks.
- Build strong partnerships across corporate services and external organisations.
About You
- CCAB qualified or educated to degree level (or equivalent).
- Significant experience in a local government or complex public‑sector finance environment.
- Proven senior‑level staff management and transformation experience.
- Strong technical, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Confident communicator with the credibility to influence at senior level.
