Contract: Maternity Cover – Full Time (Office-based, 5 days a week)

Oakhouse Foods, part of the Pilgrim’s group, is seeking a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our friendly and supportive finance team in Chippenham. This is a maternity cover position, ideal for someone with solid Purchase Ledger experience looking to make a meaningful contribution in a dynamic environment.

🔍 About the Role

As a Purchase Ledger Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting our finance function and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the Purchase Ledger system. From processing invoices and managing supplier accounts to handling bank reconciliations and communicating with franchises, you’ll help keep our operations running smoothly.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• Process refunds, direct debits, credit cards and daily payments
• Perform bank reconciliations and upload payments into Barclays
• Manage supplier statements and ensure accounts are reconciled
• Handle invoice processing, stock bookings and stock claims
• Communicate bounced cheques, missing payments, and failed invoices
• Coordinate vehicle-related tasks including fines, tax, insurance and fuel cards
• Support month-end processes with accurate and timely reconciliations

✅ What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger role – essential
• Part-qualified in an accounting qualification such as AAT – preferred
• Strong communication skills and a proactive problem-solver
• Organised, detail-focused and confident working to deadlines
• Must be available to work 5 days per week in the office (Chippenham location)
