Permanent, site-based role

Salary up to £56,000 + excellent benefits

The Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) Manager will manage ScottishPower‘s Alarm Receiving Centre, (ARC), operation, and the sub-contract operators who resource it, to ensure optimal coverage of the UK estate in relation to an efficient and effective Physical Security environment including access control, alarm monitoring and response, CCTV management, remote concierge and new system deployment.

The ARC Manager will report directly to the Security Operations Manager and in close collaboration with ScottishPower’s security guarding contractor to ensure the efficient and harmonious running of the team, and to manage the interaction with other departments & external response partners to support business needs.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supervise, mentor and support, including training and development, of around 10 in-direct reports.
  • Define, documents and maintains ARC policies, process and standards ensuring compliance with GDPR and data privacy principles.
  • Partner and coordinate with Business areas and Corporate Teams to optimize access management, Alarm Response and CCTV management.
  • Support the delivery of effective Access Control systems and integrated technology
  • Align business practices to industry best practices
  • Actively takes part on all projects having security impacts
  • Understand legal requirements and keep abreast of best practices and new trends
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies
  • Participate in the Corporate Security Risk Management Process
  • Support external agencies interface and information sharing forums
  • Perform other security related duties as required within the scope of the Corporate Security team.

  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Experience as first responder for critical and incident management
  • #Tactical orientation with capability to support strategic thought
  • Ability to work autonomously with escalation when required
  • Ability to research and interpret regulatory compliance requirements and apply to industry/business model
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships for key stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of Integrated Physical Security Technologies and Applications
  • Ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly developed pattern recognition.
  • Able to work in matrix environment working as part of a team comprising Security, Businesses and other actors.
  • Strong analytics and investigatory ability

Experience/Training

  • Tertiary level of education
  • In-depth technical knowledge of all aspects on Access control, Intruder Detection and CCTV surveillance, best practise.
  • Working knowledge of risk management, mitigation and remediation
  • Proven experience in the management of Information Security and Privacy
  • Prior team management experience.
  • Extensive working knowledge of security and privacy industry regulations, standards of best practice, and applicable guidance.
  • Experience in working with Police Agencies or Emergency services control or communications areas.

  • Security cleared or ability to obtain
  • Working knowledge of Governance and Risk Management
