This is a senior academic leadership opportunity to help shape and deliver the University of Nottingham’s global engagement strategy. As Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor (APVC) for Global Engagement, you will work closely with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Chief Strategy Officer and Office of Global Partnerships to drive the implementation of the University’s Global Partnerships Roadmap.
You will oversee strategic international collaborations that enhance our reputation, support research and education, and create measurable global impact. A typical week may include preparing for international delegations, engaging with academic and professional colleagues across faculties, and advising the Executive Board on emerging global risks and opportunities.
About The Team
You will work in close collaboration with a network of faculty-based Global Engagement Directors, Associate PVCs across education and research, and a professional team within the Office of Global Partnerships. Together, this group forms the engine room of the University’s global strategy. We are committed to inclusive leadership and welcome candidates who bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the role.
About You
You will be a senior academic leader with:
- A strong track record of cross-institutional leadership
- Deep knowledge of international higher education trends, including TNE and global policy
- Experience of building and governing complex international partnerships
- Proven ability to represent institutions on the global stage with credibility and diplomacy
- A collaborative approach and strong interpersonal skills to work across diverse stakeholder groups
