BI Analyst (Contract)

Overview:

A fast-growing marketplace is seeking a BI Analyst to take full ownership of their Looker BI environment on a 6-month contract. You will work closely with Insights, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to improve reporting accessibility, optimise BI performance, and establish strong governance and best-practice standards.

This role is fully remote and offers the opportunity to drive BI improvements from concept through to deployment within a small, collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain Looker dashboards that support business decision-making
• Optimise and scale Looker instances to improve performance
• Partner with Insights and Finance teams to enhance reporting and self-service BI
• Establish governance frameworks, BI standards, and reporting best practices
• Own BI tooling operations to ensure reliable, accurate, and accessible reporting
• Lead end-to-end BI improvement projects independently

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with Looker and LookML
• Advanced SQL and comfort working across complex data models
• Proven track record in BI optimisation, scaling, or governance
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment

Desirable Skills:

• Experience using Data-bricks
• Familiarity with Python
• Background in developing self-service BI frameworks
