ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Box Office Supervisor to join our team on a permanent, part-time basis.
Working 24 hours per week, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our Box Office operations. From overseeing ticket sales and managing customer queries, to supervising a team of Box Office Assistants and ensuring accurate financial and system reporting, this is a dynamic role at the heart of the theatre.
You’ll collaborate closely with our wider venue and operational teams to ensure every customer has an excellent experience—from the moment they book their tickets to curtain-up.

ABOUT YOU
You’ll be an enthusiastic and reliable individual with a passion for theatre and live entertainment. You’ll be calm under pressure, lead by example, and bring a customer-focused mindset to everything you do.
We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:
· A genuine interest in theatre and the wider live entertainment industry
· GCSEs (or equivalent) as a minimum; A Levels or a relevant degree is desirable
· Proven experience in a box office or ticketing environment, ideally within the performing arts
· Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role
· Familiarity with ticketing software (e.g. Tixly, Spektrix, Tessitura, AudienceView, etc.) is advantageous
· Excellent attention to detail, especially when handling transactions and reports
· Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy, customer-facing environment
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays in line with performance schedules
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As Box Office Supervisor, you will support the smooth and efficient running of the theatre’s ticketing operations. Working closely with the Box Office Manager, you’ll be a key point of contact for both customers and team members.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Supervising Box Office Assistants and supporting their development through training, feedback, and guidance
· Leading by example to always deliver a high standard of customer service
· Ensuring clear communication and consistent operations in collaboration with the Box Office Manager
· Maintaining adherence to Box Office procedures, company policies, and data protection standards
· Assisting with show builds, price structures, promotional offers, and ticket allocations in the ticketing system
· Managing daily reporting and financial reconciliation with accuracy and attention to detail
· Handling customer queries and complaints effectively and empathetically
· Working closely with visiting companies, promoters, and internal departments to ensure event readiness and success
· Monitoring sales performance and contributing ideas to improve service delivery and operational efficiency
We’re looking for someone who is approachable, dependable, and confident using ticketing systems in a fast-paced, live events setting. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are key to this role.
