We are seeking an Associate Director to join our new EMEA Structuring COO team, where you will play a key role in driving and managing our regulatory-driven global Product Governance framework and supporting associated strategic initiatives to help facilitate and shape the business in a well-controlled manner.
In this role, you will work closely with senior stakeholders, both across the business and front-to-back, applying your organizational and problem-solving skills to provide robust and best-in-class governance for the business, streamlining processes, and contributing to driving the overall control and efficiency of the business. Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- developing an in-depth understanding of both the product governance framework and the business front-to-back (e.g. products, governance processes, regulatory demand etc.)
- managing, and helping to drive improvements in, the GM Product Governance framework to ensure that the GM Derivatives and Solutions business maintains the highest standards in meeting regulatory and internal requirements
- collaborating with Structuring, Trading and Sales functions, broader Business Management/COO teams and 2LOD/3LOD business partners such as Compliance, Legal, Quants and Technology to ensure clear ongoing governance and compliance
- evolving and improving the product governance framework through innovation, collaboration, inviting challenge and simplification
- partnering with team members and other COO teams globally to execute relevant controls and other daily COO business activities
- leading the implementation of relevant change initiatives driven by regulatory, Audit and Compliance remediation activities
- identifying and evaluating emerging risks to ensure continued adherence to regulatory and internal standards, and propose solutions to mitigate those risks
Your team
You will be directly supporting the Structuring COO team (part of the Distribution COO team) within IB COO. Your team is responsible for a broad range of activities including D&S business development, governance and efficiency.
Our broader team in Distribution COO spans across Franchise Sales, Execution Sales, and Structuring, ensuring a seamless integration of our strategic goals with operational excellence. As part of our mission, we collaborate closely with Sales, Trading and Structuring management, the broader teams and support functions, offering a broad exposure to the Global Markets business. These partnerships enable us to create an impactful support model and provide solutions to support sustainable business growth.
Your expertise
- ideally 3-5 yrs or more experience with relevant experience in derivatives
- excellent analytical skills; proficiency in excel, power point
- strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a demonstratable ability to challenge the status quo and drive change
- strong focus, drive and commitment to drive success of the team/firm
- positive attitude with ‘can-do’ approach
- ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under limited supervision whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail
- excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels across the organization
- ability to remain calm under pressure and to adapt to a changing and challenging environment
