St Ann’s School is an outstanding secondary special school in Ealing with students with the most complex disabilities including profound and multiple learning and physical disabilities, severe learning difficulties and complex autism. The school works with a wide variety of young people. One of the cohorts are students with behaviours that challenge, working to develop their regulation skills to be able to participate in their communities. Another cohort are students with complex physical and learning disabilities and our focus is to enable them to be as independent, as possible. We are proud to be an Equal’s Exemplar School. We are looking for a committed, excellent teacher who teaches through a joyful and playful approach and is committed to a non-punitive and gentle approach to behaviour support.
The teacher must be happy to teach students with a variety of complex disabilities including students with profound and multiple learning disabilities, complex severe learning disabilities with and without autism. Some of our students have extreme behaviours that challenge arising from their disabilities.
What is most important is the attitude and determination to provide the absolute best for all our students. It is a role where you can make a significant difference in our students’ lives.
The successful candidate will:
- Passionately contribute and believe in the school's ethos and mission;
Have a calm and gentle approach to behaviour support; Have the ability to work both independently and as a part of a larger team;Have had experience in managing working with and directing teaching assistants;Have creativity and a love for exciting lessons;Have a problem-solving attitude;Have a can-do attitude;Contribute to all aspects of the school; Have a willingness to develop and improve.
