An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Paediatric Orthopaedic team at Birmingham Children's Hospital, for a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon. This is a full-time post, attracting 10 programmed activities (PAs). Although based at BCH and employed by BWC, the post involves the running of outreach paediatric orthopaedic clinics and lists at Russells Hall Hospital, part of the Dudley Group of Hospitals.
Applications are invited from accredited specialists in Paediatric Orthopaedics who are on the Specialist Register at the interview stage or will be within 6 months of the interview. Completion of a Paediatric Orthopaedic fellowship would be essential. The successful applicant will be strongly encouraged to have or to develop a sub-specialty interest to complement those of their colleagues in the department.

The postholder must be able to manage a comprehensive range of paediatric orthopaedic emergencies including trauma, as well as an elective programme. The postholder will participate in the non-resident on-call commitments on a 1 in 8 frequency.
