Social Worker Role Profile.pdf
We are seeking Social Workers who are inspired by our Corporate Parenting vision that ‘The ‘Sky is the Limit’ ( The Sky's the limit ) for all of our children and young people to join our Permanence Teams working with our children and young people who have a permanence plan of long term care. You will be a qualified and experienced social worker who is aspirational for our children and young people and will work closely with partners to achieve permanence and the best outcomes for all children through high quality care and Pathway Plans.
Our ILACS in January 2023 told us we were on the right tracks. We were listening to children and young people and keeping them safe. Our leadership was delivering improving services and there was strong commitment to getting to good and outstanding.
Since the ILACS we have continued to improve. We have stabilised our leadership and management posts and invested in key areas and delivered a comprehensive workforce development programme on the core areas of practice. We are building on this further this year, responding proactively to the opportunities the Families First Partnership reforms give us to further improve outcomes for children and families.
The redesign is enabling us to reduce caseloads to 16 across the service and to strengthen how we work with partners across Plymouth to ensure children and families benefit from multi-disciplinary approaches. We are committed to maintaining manageable caseloads so that you develop strong relationships with our children and young people in order to support them in the ways they have told us are important to them. You will ensure children’s voices are at the heart of everything you do.
We work in a trauma informed, restorative and strengths-based way with children and families to support sustainable change. We are implementing ‘Rethink Formulation’ into our practice model to support reflective supervision and practice with families and have recently enhanced our Family Group Conferencing Service so that every family benefits from a family led support plan.
We know that best practice takes the best Social Workers; you will join a supportive team and will have access to good quality supervision, have your learning prioritised by our Academy and have access to supported opportunities for career development and progression. This includes for practitioners to progress their careers in Plymouth through progression to an Advanced Practitioner or access to a management development programme for those who want to develop their career in this way. You will receive a competitive salary and a generous annual leave entitlement.
We offer up to £8k support to relocation.
The Disclosure & Barring Service Check requirement for this post is: Enhanced Child & Adult Check
