We connect vast, anonymized datasets on foot traffic and consumer spending to provide actionable insights on everything from competitive market share and trade area analysis to customer demographics and cross-shopping behavior. This allows retailers to answer their most challenging questions: where to open their next store, how to optimize marketing spend, and what truly drives retail performance.

We’re a fast-growing startup with big ambitions, and we move fast, experiment often, and care deeply about building reliable systems that scale. We’re looking for a Data Engineer who’s excited to do exactly that.

The Role

You’ll take ownership of the data ingestion layer, the crucial bridge between our external data suppliers and the platform that powers our products. From building and maintaining ingestion pipelines to managing API integrations and external data feeds, you’ll ensure our data keeps flowing cleanly, reliably, and at scale.

You’ll also collaborate closely with our AI and product teams to quickly handle new data requests, helping us move faster and avoid bottlenecks in model development and product delivery.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain and improve existing ingestion and ETL pipelines.
• Set up new production ingestion pipelines for external data sources.
• Connect directly with technical teams at our suppliers to manage data delivery and troubleshoot issues.
• Load and process data from APIs and other external systems.
• Collaborate with the AI team to support new data requests and ensure timely access to fresh data.
• Manage and monitor data ingestion workflows, including GPS-related datasets.

What You’ll Bring

• Strong Python skills, particularly working with APIs.
• Experience with BigQuery and cloud data processing.
• Familiarity with Airflow for orchestrating data workflows.
• Working knowledge of Spark (PySpark).
• Understanding of GCP Storage and IAM.

Bonus Points If You Have

• Experience with Terraform.
• Background in data analysis or supporting data science teams.
• Experience handling geospatial data.
• Interest in AI agents or automation tools for coding and data management.
