Data Governance Analyst - Contract - Inside IR35 - 6 months rolling
A golbal financial services company is looking for a Data governance analyst to come in and assist with the following:
Assist with formalising a data management programme within the firm
- Establishing a Data Governance Council to oversee the programme and provide direction
- Establishing Data Champions and data ownership in the business
- Establishing a formal records management schedule
- Defining data quality standards and data retention periods
- Promoting data governance adoption across the firm
Expand & extend the firm’s enterprise data model & controls
- Define and document data definitions, business glossaries, metadata & data lineage
- Implement detective data quality controls on key data sets and establish monitoring/remediation with the business
- Support and develop tooling related to data cataloguing, data quality and data management practices
Skills & Experience
- Ability to analyse data issues and communicate recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong documentation, organisation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working with data governance or data cataloguing tools, particularly OpenMetaData and related extensions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI and Databricks is essential
- Experience of Python, as well as data analysis frameworks and tools, would be desirable
