The role
The role of the Delegated Authority (DA) Analyst is to support the underwriting (UW) function with their pre and post-bind activity predominantly relating to Consortiums, Lineslips and Binders, to ensure that we have high-quality data and MI to enable us to make the best decisions. We work with an outsourcing partner who helps us in this area, and the DA Analyst role will help support the Syndicate Manager with Operational duties relating to the ongoing management of all Delegated contracts written at the syndicate.
The successful candidate will do this by:
- Ensuring governance checks, as/when required, are completed on all Delegated Authority agreements during their lifecycle (driving a close working relationship with the Underwriting and Risk/Compliance Teams to achieve this with the DA Manager).
- Ensuring the timely receipt and processing of any/all periodic bordereau (bdx) under each Inwards DA agreement – specifying & driving the use of VIPR, the BDX management system, to support efficient utilisation of the data.
- Helping prepare MI reports and Delegated Authority Committee packs with updates on BDX receipt position across all DA agreements (i.e. received, nil returns, received but queried, outstanding, EPI positions).
- Ensuring any incorrect DA policy records in received bordereau are identified, assessed/challenged and corrected in the Policy Admin System (PAS) (& other systems as applicable).
- Ensuring internal & external periodic (e.g. monthly or quarterly) DA Bordereau Statements (Risk, Premium & Claims) are prepared and issued, in line with strict deadlines, whilst driving a close working relationship with Claims, Finance and Risk/Compliance Teams.
- Being able to communicate and find resolution to any outstanding queries with brokers, MGAs, TPAs or DCAs with regards to any ongoing contracts or BDX issues
- Helping the ongoing management of the BDX management system VIPR and outsource BDX management relationship to ensure all files, placements and insurance documentation are produced &/or stored correctly and accurately on internal systems.
- Co-ordinating & completing wider Operations team duties as part of our new Partnerships division as required – a mix of project-based initiatives, plus day-to-day responsibilities.
- Ensuring all UW Controls are adhered to for all DA Contracts and to make sure the full DA process is followed in line with the DA framework and procedures
- Maintaining a thorough understanding of all regulatory requirements regarding Delegated Authorities (applicable to whole chain - Brokers, MGAs, Insurers and Reinsurers).
- Ensuring all Regulatory returns are submitted on time with the help of Risk/Compliance teams and assist with ongoing management of the Product Governance Framework
- Complying with the requirements of all of the Company's policies and procedures.
- Completing any other reasonable tasks as directed by your manager(s).

- Your energy and enthusiasm. Whilst experience in operations and/or insurance would be preferable, if you have done a bit of research to demonstrate to us that you are serious then we are prepared to train you up
- Evidence of a good aptitude for learning, most likely to degree level or with good results from school and evidence of ongoing appetite for learning
- Your commitment to the team; it’s essential that we are all team players in Operations
- Good basic IT skills – you know what we mean. Standard office packages, Excel in particular and the aptitude to learn our systems
