Job Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Ward Manager on Rowan Ward.
To lead and motivate a team of nursing staff, ensuring the provision of safe and compassionate care to patients. In the absence of the ward manager, to lead and to be a role model, ensuring the environment is maintained to a high standard.
Expected to deliver, hands on clinical care to patients, and to assist the ward Manager in the implementation, and delivery of the clinical and non-clinical governance agenda within the care environment.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Monitor and maintain compliance with regulatory standards and organisational policies.
Manage resources efficiently, including staffing levels, delegation, and day to day management of the clinical areas.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging staff development and implementing best practices. To assist with the monitoring of standards of nursing care, patient experience and patient safety and take appropriate action to maintain and improve.
Act as a liaison between front line staff, senior management, and other stakeholders to drive positive outcomes.

The post requires the deputy ward manager to support with managerial duties and development of staff. To maintain patient and staff safety involving delegation and clinical support.
You will be expected to work as part of a Multidisciplinary Team. Your objectives are to facilitate safe and effective discharges of patients in a timely manner.
You will also be expected to demonstrate a high level of nursing assessment and clinical care skills by supporting Band 5 nurses, student nurses and HCSW’s in their professional development within this dedicated environment. In addition you will be required to provide support and advice to patients and their families/carers.
We are seeking an enthusiastic forward thinking deputy ward manager to join this new team. If you thrive on a challenge and feel that you have the qualities and interpersonal skills, this will be the post for you.
