We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced candidate to join the Sequencing Development Team as a Development Scientist, focussing on the sequencing chemistry side of our cutting-edge technology.

This exciting and challenging role focuses on the development and continuous improvement of the sequencing chemistry within our core platforms, to improve quality, consistency and drive higher outputs.
The successful candidate will work in the Sequencing Chemistry team within the Development department and collaborate with stakeholders across R&D, Production, and other key areas of the company. The sequencing chemistry team are responsible for the development and integration of key features such as new electrochemical systems and novel biological setups, therefore a background in biochemistry or related life science discipline is essential.
The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
What We're Looking For...
- A PhD in life sciences (or BSc/MSc in life sciences with several years of relevant industry experience).
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of organisation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in experimental design, data interpretation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with data analysis/bioinformatic tools and environments (E.g. Python/R/Linux command line).
- Hands-on experience with electrophysiology, biological sensing techniques or sequencing technologies and experiments.
- Proficiency in core laboratory techniques, equipment usage, and best practices.
- A proven track record in delivering scientific or technical projects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across Research, Development, Production and Informatics teams.
