Job Overview
The Development Support Team Lead guides a cross‑functional engineering teams in designing, building, and delivering high‑quality software. This role combines hands‑on development with leadership responsibilities, ensuring the team operates with clarity, efficiency, and a shared sense of purpose.
To lead team(s) that investigate, understand, propose solutions, and fix product defects for a dealership management solution, using a mix of modern programming languages and techniques as well as a large legacy codebase. Provide full life-cycle management of development projects, ensuring delivery on time against pre-defined estimates.
To resolve commonly encountered customer issues with the development of tools, utilities, and functionality that aids resolution.
Produce software components to a high standard that are both manually and automatically tested on all the environments they will be deployed to. Use an Agile approach with appropriate methodologies to encourage collaboration and manage change. To contribute to the development of best practise methodologies in relation to research and development and ensure their implementation by your team.

Qualifications Required
Essential - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualification, or equivalent work experience.
Experience Required
Essential – Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Essential – Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and system design.
Essential – Good knowledge of software application technologies
Essential – Strong problem-solving skills
Essential – Strong ability to troubleshoot front-end/client side, server side and database related issues
Essential – Experience with C# and Microsoft .Net framework
Essential – Proven experience leading or mentoring software engineers. Essential – Experience of leading multiple concurrent feature developments Essential– Experience of working with Agile methodologies (Kanban or SCRUM)
Essential – Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Desirable – Experience with a JavaScript web framework (VueJS, React, Angular, etc)
Desirable – Knowledge of Jira
Desirable – Experience with Financial (Accounting) systems
Desirable – Experience of relational databases (SQL) and flat file databases (ISAMS)
