Flatts Nursery School is the only Local Authority Maintained Nursery School in Kirklees. We provide a special place for our children to grow and develop. Our aim is to ensure our children are independent, curious and have a strong sense of community.
There is an opportunity of a temporary position available, from September 2025, to join our hard-working team at Flatts Nursery School. More details around this role are below. If you want to join our family and make a difference we would encourage you to apply.
Early Years Practitioner (Grade 6) - Temporary (32.5 hours per week – the required working pattern is Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3.30pm, Term-time plus 5 days). This position is not currently expected to go beyond July 2026.

- A flexible person, who can fulfil both the role of a key person responsible for a group of children and
work more directly with a small number of children with additional needs.
- A team player who can work well as part of a team, but also use their own initiative.
- Someone who is passionate about inclusive early education and care.
- An organised individual who can manage their own time and keep to deadlines.
- A flexible person willing to work across the setting with children aged 2 years to 4 years and be open
to working extra hours in line with the needs of the school.
- Someone who loves to learn and will engage proactively with our training offer.
