We are looking for an
Engineer – Valves & Actuators to support the development of fully integrated technical solutions across the valves and actuators domain. This role plays a key part in advancing product maturity, programme execution, and governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate within cross-functional teams and engage with the global supply chain to deliver high-quality component designs.
- Contribute to the definition of product specifications by integrating technical, programme, and operational factors into the design process.
- Support product development throughout the entire lifecycle, from concept to delivery, often working in dynamic, iterative, and evolving environments.
Key Selection Criteria:
Broad Knowledge of Structural Integrity in the Nuclear Industry
Understanding of the cross-functional aspects of structural integrity in high-reliability nuclear applications, aligned with UK ONR Safety Assessment Principles (EMC.1–EMC.3). The candidate should have a general awareness of key contributing disciplines—design and analysis, materials, non-destructive examination, quality, and manufacturing—with deeper expertise in one or more areas preferred.
Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Building
Strong ability to build and maintain relationships across internal teams—design, analysis, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial—as well as with external stakeholders including suppliers, customers, and regulators. The role involves leading supplier interactions, supporting third-party discussions, and delivering presentations on complex, cross-functional topics.
Programme development & delivery
The candidate shall be required to develop, manage programmes of work for a defined scope of the role. This will include interacting with other teams delivering dependent activities to ensure progress is monitored and aligned with the integrated programme.
The candidate shall be required to input and engage in managing risks across the programme and ensure adequate mitigation activities are identified and implemented.

We anticipate paying a salary of between
£40,000-£52,500 (DOE) plus:-
- Bonus - Performance related bonus of up to 12.5%
- Benefits Allowance - £2200, enabling you to create a bespoke package
- Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
- Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days

- 57600-74500Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
- £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
