About the Role

Family Solicitor – Newcastle Office (Part-Time) Flexible working available – partial home working and adaptable start times can be accommodated to support work-life balance.

Responsibilities

• Minimum one year of family law experience managing your own files.
• Candidates from early-career to experienced practitioners, including those seeking partnership-level responsibility, are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience Required: Minimum one year of family law experience managing your own files.

• The team focuses on privately funded matters rather than Legal Aid, allowing fee earners to provide high-quality advice and assistance without administrative delays.
• Competitive commercial charge-out rates mean fewer cases and better remuneration.
• Realistic billing targets are monitored against financial KPIs, rather than stressful six-minute time sheets.
• A supportive environment without the rigid hierarchy of larger firms, giving you direct access to interesting and complex cases.
• Matters handled include divorces, private children’s disputes, financial arrangements, injunctions, and pre-nuptial agreements for clients with overseas connections.

Preferred Skills

• Many clients are business owners, property investors, professionals (including doctors, dentists, educators), and international or expatriate clients.
• You may continue to work in other areas of law if desired, including Private Client work, conveyancing, or employment law.
