We’re hiring a Financial Director (Contractor - 2 days a week) to be a high-impact partner across our leadership team-someone who brings financial clarity to product, commercial and operational decisions, helps shape our business model, and builds financial systems that support agility and ambition.

This isn’t a back-office finance role. It’s a seat at the strategic table.

About the Role

You’ll be the go-to financial brain in the room - embedding a financial lens across Pynea’s evolving business. You’ll support investor communications, scenario planning, department budgeting, and operating model design. From big strategic bets to day-to-day capital efficiency, you’ll help us think smarter, faster, and bigger.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team, offering financial insights to support major decisions across product, operations, hiring, and GTM.
• Lead scenario planning, financial modelling, and forecasting across multiple commercial pathways
• Help define the go-to-market strategy, in particular pricing and monetisation options for the product
• Help define and optimise budgets, ensuring teams are resourced effectively and sustainably
• Build agile financial systems and processes that scale with the business
• Support investor communication with credible, clear financial materials
• Identify and assess financial risks and opportunities - and shape decision-making accordingly
• Provide ad hoc modelling or analysis for major product and business initiatives

About You

• A strategic thinker who thrives in fast-moving environments
• Experience in a high-growth start-up or scale-up environment (bonus if you’ve worked pre- and post-raise)
• Deep understanding of finance as a growth lever – not just a compliance function
• Strong financial modelling and scenario planning capability
• Excellent communicator, able to translate complex financial insights into actionable business strategy
• Comfortable operating part-time and focused - you know how to prioritise what moves the needle
• Curious, commercially aware, and excited by the chance to help scale an ambitious company
