Job Purpose
As a graduate engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers on and off-site to develop skills and independence while working on the design and analysis of engineering projects.
You will be involved in the technical aspects of engineering projects, supporting the preparation of designs, calculations, and reports.
This role will provide opportunities for involvement and skill development in client liaison and project management, encompassing both time and budget management.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of designs, calculations, and reports.
- Support the preparation of technical drawings and specifications.
- Assist in the preparation of fee/ tender proposals
- Attend site visits and surveys (under supervision) as required
- Learn to apply relevant design codes and standards (e.g., British Standards, Eurocodes).
- Engage in training and professional development activities.
- Support senior engineers in project planning, execution, and documentation
- Work to project timelines, budgets, and communication with Project Managers
Person Specification
Education
Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ICE or IStructE-accredited course.
A 2:1 (or equivalent) degree classification or above
Demonstrate commitment to undertake continuous professional development towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineering status.
Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English).
Ability to work effectively with the Microsoft suite of programs, such as Word, Excel & PowerPoint
Knowledge in the use of relevant technical analysis, design software and AutoCAD
Strong attention to detail and the ability to comply with Quality Assurance Management Systems.
Experience
Minimum 2 years' intern or project experience

Additional Responsibilities
A full, clean driving license would be an advantage.
Familiar with Autodesk (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and Bentley (MicroStation) software.
Due to the nature of this role, site work, overnight or weekend work may be required.
