The role

Support ITVS International Labels by collaborating with creative, technical, and production teams throughout the production workflow. Create, budget, and maintain a production technology roadmap aligned with strategic priorities, ensuring its delivery and implementation with proper governance.

Provide expert advice on content production technology, from pre-production to archive. Act as a liaison for Studios Technology, fostering strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and industry bodies. Be accountable for all technology aspects within your business areas, including production tech, network, infrastructure, and core IT services. Lead innovation efficiently and cost-consciously, adhering to ITVS best practices.

Advise on resources and deliver technically efficient workflows from capture to delivery across all International production and Label output.

Key criteria:

• In-depth understanding of production, media management and storage technologies and their application in a producer-broadcaster environment
• In depth understanding of how evolving technologies could impact the way in which content is acquired, produced and stored, and how this could benefit a large-scale producer-broadcaster especially around cloud based technologies
• Solid ability to translate technical matters into non-technical explanations.
• Knowledge of relationship management and techniques to build relationships with existing stakeholders and suppliers.
• Strong ability to deliver and to effectively manage a team, a diverse set of stakeholders and multiple suppliers.
• Extensive experience in a production environment as a technology specialist
• Extensive experience of delivering large and multi-faceted change programmes into a production environment
• Detailed understanding of the production lifecycle and how it evolves in a SAAS (cloud)-based environment.
• Ability to provide technology support in a highly creative, high pressure and time critical environment.
• Up to date knowledge of multi genre production technical workflows and practices with a focus on sustainability.
• Ability to anticipate problems and plan ahead, adapting to last-minute changes and resolving problems whilst under pressure
• Ability to make rapid accurate assessments, identify crucial issues and to use own initiative to make decisions, but to understand when to refer an issue upwards
• Demonstrable experience of taking a proactive approach to learning new technologies and production developments and promoting ways of working
• Understands and implements relevant policies and practices and upholds the values and behaviours expected at ITV.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience of ownership, alignment and development of Technology strategy for productions.
• Proven track record of delivery of complex broadcast technology and business change projects.
• Experience acting as a key relationship manager within a Technology organisation.
• Knowledge of International ITV business area processes and key challenges, or of processes and key challenges in similar business units in a media organisation
• Experience of providing Technical support in a time critical production environment.
