Description

The School of Performance, Music and Media is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Live Production / Production Arts Lecturer to deliver high‑quality teaching on our Level 3 Live Production courses. This role is ideal for a practitioner with strong industry experience in stage management, technical stage lighting, and sound, who is passionate about developing the next generation of creative professionals.


You will contribute to the planning, delivery, and assessment of a broad curriculum that reflects current industry practice and supports learners in progressing to higher education or employment within the creative industries.


Key Responsibilities


  • Deliver engaging teaching and learning across BTEC Level 3 Live Production programmes, including:
  • Developing Production Skills and Techniques
  • Contributing to a Production
  • Using Development Plans to Refine Skills
  • Producing a Personal Project
  • Using Material for Self‑Promotion and Networking
  • Planning a Career in the Industry


  • Teach practical and theoretical elements of stage management, technical stage lighting, and sound is a must.
  • Plan, assess, and internally verify learner work in line with awarding body and college requirements.
  • Support learners through rehearsal, live performance, and technical production processes.
  • Promote professional behaviours, teamwork, health & safety, and industry best practice.
  • Track learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and support achievement and retention.
  • Contribute to productions, showcases, and enrichment activities.
  • Work collaboratively within the department to develop curriculum, resources, and facilities.


What We’re Looking For


  • Experience in live production, stage management, lighting, and sound.
  • Ability to teach both practical and theoretical aspects of live production.
  • Experience working with Level 3 learners (or equivalent).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive teaching and learner development.

  • This role is 20 hours per week, based at our Watford Campus. The closing date for applications is Friday 22nd May 2026. The successful candidate will join the team from August 2026.
