About This Opportunity
About the Role:
We are looking for two proactive and knowledgeable
HR Advisors to join our HR Advisory Team at Cumberland Council. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative HR team and consolidate your employee relations experience. You will work flexibly across Cumberland based in either Workington or Carlisle with some home working.
You will play a key role in promoting best practice, educating and developing line managers, and ensuring alignment and consistency of HR practices across the council.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional, accurate, and timely HR advice on policies, procedures, and employment law.
- Support managers in handling complex casework, including disciplinary, grievance, and absence management.
- Promote best practice and build capability through education and guidance.
- Contribute to HR projects and policy development.
- Analyse HR metrics and data to identify trends and recommend interventions.
About You
- Ideally you will have Associate Membership of the CIPD or working towards this. We would also be interested in hearing from experienced HR professionals.
- Strong generalist HR knowledge and experience across the employee lifecycle.
- Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and influence stakeholders.
This role is available fixed term until 31st March 2026 with possible extension subject to funding.
