Architecture And Design
What you’ll do in the role:
- Contribute to the development and execution of infrastructure architecture strategies, roadmaps, patterns, and blueprints to support enterprise-wide IT initiatives.
- Assist in the design and governance of enterprise infrastructure solutions, ensuring alignment with regulatory, security, and operational standards.
- Evaluate and recommend compute, storage, networking, and cloud solutions to meet scalability, reliability, resilience, and business continuity needs.
- Support the modernization of infrastructure systems, including cloud adoption, automation, and software-defined technologies, and support the decommissioning of legacy systems.
- Assist in the early identification and resolution of architecture risks in collaboration with system owners.
Governance & Compliance
- Contribute to architecture reviews & governance to ensure alignment with Firm’s practices and Technology Strategy, including working with SMEs to complete the review documentation & architecture diagrams (C4 Structurizr preferred).
- Ensure all infrastructure designs adhere to regulatory, industry, and enterprise security standards.
- Define and maintain infrastructure reference architectures, policies, and best practices.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with enterprise architects, solution architects, and engineering teams to ensure alignment of infrastructure solutions with broader IT strategies.
- Provide technical guidance to Engineering, SRE, Operational and project teams, fostering a supportive environment and sharing expertise to drive effective solutions.
- Create awareness of architectural best practices & standards, drive architectural decisions, and resolve design challenges.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
- 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure design, implementation, and governance in large, regulated enterprises (e.g., financial services, healthcare, government).
- Knowledge of multiple of the following technical domains:
- Compute architectures, including bare metal, virtualization, and containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS, Object Storage, Backup & Recovery).
- Cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Database & data architecture, including traditional enterprise dbs (SQL, PostGres) and modern cloud-based solutions.
- Networking including routing, switching, SD-WAN, firewalls, load balancing, and DNS/DHCP.
- Experience with automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of security and compliance best practices, including zero-trust architecture, encryption, and data protection.
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring, observability, and IT operations tools (e.g., Splunk, Prometheus, Graphana).
- Experience working in environments with stringent security and compliance requirements.
- Understanding of ITIL, enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman), and technology governance processes.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Ability to influence and drive technical decisions in a complex enterprise environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
