Inventory Management Process Lead
Remote working
Full Time – 37.5 hours per week

To support the Head of Supply Chain and Procurement Operations in delivering the process and system improvements identified by the SAP Upgrade and Finance Transformation Programmes and once these are delivered the Inventory Management and Process Lead will own the inventory SOP’s and processes to ensure they remain effective and relevant, provide training and support and monitor compliance. This role will also provide operational support, guidance, training, and monitoring for hospital inventory management teams and take the lead in the resolution of
general supply chain issues.
What you’ll do:
- Support the implementation of effective inventory management practices across all hospital inventory, that minimise sock levels while ensuring an excellent service and the continued, safe operation of the business.
- Develop and implement methods to monitor and report on the effectiveness of the materials management function.
- Develop systems and processes to ensure visibility of stock levels (both owned and consignment).
- Provide training, coaching and support to materials management staff, ensuring all staff are able to deliver and effective materials management service that is fully compliant with materials management policies and processes.
- Support delivery of inventory management system and process improvements identified by the programmes, by contributing to the design of “to be” process based on inventory management best practice.
- Support the production of associated pathways, SOP’s, process reference guides and work instructions.
- Ensure that any requests for change are assessed for impact, and taken to the appropriate governance authority and support the production of Change Impact Assessments.
- Work with the test team to ensure new processes are fully tested and approved before launch.
- Support the production of training materials and the delivery of training as required.
- Support any other ad-hoc requests and activities required by the project teams and Head of Supply Chain and Procurement Operations.
What you’ll bring:
- 5+ years experience in inventory/materials management and/or related financial or operational roles at a senior level.
- Excellent understanding of inventory/materials management principles and their practical application.
- Familiarity with ERP and Inventory Management systems and financial budgeting processes.
- Highly motivated with a “can-do/will-do” attitude.
- Ability to deal well with ambiguity.
- Hospital stores management experience.
- Good level of self-awareness.
- Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels from board to ward.
- Hospital operational management experience.
- Proficient in the use of SAP or similar.
- Development and implementation of inventory and materials policies and processes.
- Delivery of inventory management systems and/or process training to individuals and groups.
- Good understanding of bar code scanning.
- Significant involvement in identifying, developing and launching inventory management system and process improvements.
- Significant involvement in implementing bar code scanning systems and processes.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritise workload.
- Proven ability to work effectively in both a team environment and autonomously.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to produce clear, accurate and professional reports.
- Demonstrable project management skills.
