What is the opportunity?
As a member of the Planning team, you’ll be responsible for developing and supporting business promotion strategies to maximise performance. This role involves close collaboration with client coverage teams and cross-functional departments to create business plans, analyse key performance indicators, and lead initiatives informed by market trends and customer needs.
What will you be doing?
- Formulating and implementing business plans and strategies in partnership with senior management
- Supporting the development and execution of business strategies and annual planning
- Designing, monitoring, and analysing key sales KGIs, KPIs and KAIs
- Conducting competitive analysis and identifying client needs
- Supporting the rollout of new product and service initiatives
- Collaborating with client coverage teams to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions
- Coordinating with marketing, product development, and other relevant departments
- Preparing presentations and business strategy reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Managing and tracking KPIs and other performance metrics for JBE (including P/L, RWA, and headcount) and reporting to senior management
- Assisting in resource planning, including headcount, budgeting and target setting
- Coordinating seminars and various events
- Supporting other ad hoc activities as requested by the Head of Planning
What do you need to succeed?
- Bachelor’s degree
- Fluency in both Japanese and English
- 3+ years of experience in the financial industry (preferably banking)
- Experience in business planning, business promotion or consulting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Project management experience
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI)
- Proactive and able to lead initiatives independently
- A balance of strategic thinking and practical business acumen
- Ability to identify issues and propose effective solutions
- Strong presentation skills
- Excellent coordination and organisational abilities
- Proficiency in data management and analysis
