What will you be doing?
You will join the User Centred Design (UCD) Centre of Excellence leadership team within the Digital Delivery Hub (DDH). You will provide UCD leadership to the Regulatory Case Management Service (RCMS) team, ensuring user needs are central to design and development in line with UCD Centre of Excellence standards. RCMS, built on Salesforce and used across the FCA, Bank of England and Payment Systems Regulator, supports 3,000 users and manages around 750,000 cases annually. It underpins key regulatory functions like Authorisations, Supervision and Enforcement.
You will have strong UCD management and service design experience, excellent stakeholder and communication skills and a track record of delivering innovative, user-centred solutions. Knowledge of Salesforce and design systems is advantageous. The role reports to the UCD Centre of Excellence Lead and collaborates closely with senior stakeholders.
- Steer UCD initiatives, managing colleagues to ensure consistent design and adherence to standards
- Help the UCD leadership team deliver UCD maturity across the FCA and within RCMS, contributing to strategic change
- Support multidisciplinary teams in designing user-centred digital products and services that meet internal user needs
- Promote service-thinking among non-UCD colleagues and senior stakeholders, helping them identify and improve user experiences
- Review service failures to design improvements, create journey maps, service blueprints and support UCD professional development across the FCA

Minimum
- Experience as a Service Designer or senior UCD roles
- Experience in UCD ideally within financial services, government, regulatory bodies, technology or consultancy
- Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams
Essential
- UCD/service design leadership skills with the ability to support diverse teams and influence stakeholders
- Able to design and implement strategies aligned with FCA aims and UCD standards set by the central UCD team
- Able to navigate complex organisations and leverage insights to deliver effective services
- Experience of coaching or mentoring colleagues, sharing best practice and supporting UCD maturity through improved ways of working
- Proficient in prototyping methods and integrating data, user insights, design thinking and agile practices to promote continuous improvement
