We are looking for an ambitious individual to cultivate relationships with private equity firms, M&A advisory businesses and in-house corporate development teams. This is a permanent role, working as part of the customer-facing team at MarktoMarket to identify and nurture clients.
MarktoMarket is the gold standard for SME and Lower Mid-Market data. Our platform helps advisers and investors discover and analyse their next deal with unmatched accuracy, coverage and insight. Our clients trust us to provide the data they need to move quickly and confidently.
For this role, we're inclined toward someone with experience working in M&A or private equity. We are looking to consolidate our strong position in the UK and Ireland and will shortly be launching our US product. Responsibilities include
- Driving our business development efforts forward in our core markets of private equity, M&A advisory and corporate development.
- Building relationships with senior leaders at firms in our target markets.
- Building a deep understanding of the MarktoMarket platform and the benefits it delivers to our clients; being able to convey these benefits to clients through product demos and presentations.
- Negotiating and closing deals – pulling together proposals and negotiating pricing and other terms.
- Assisting with MarktoMarket client events such as Breakfast Seminars and Round Table dinners as well as industry events attended by clients and prospective clients. Potential to be a keynote speaker / thought leader on industry trends at these events.
- Generate thought leadership content on the private markets.
- Produce industry case studies for clients on the benefits of MarktoMarket.
- Participate in MarktoMarket’s weekly webinars as a host to provide commentary on the M&A markets.
- Monitor personal KPIs and report on progress.
- Conveying customer feedback and collaborating with other members of the team in Sales, Marketing, Product & Engineering, and Customer Success.
Qualifications and experience
This role best suits someone with most of the following:
- Deals and/or origination experience, either in M&A Advisory, Private Equity, Corporate Law or Transaction Services.
- A financial qualification such as ACA, CA or CFA is helpful.
- A personal network of professionals in MarktoMarket’s target industries.

- Salary and Commission – very competitive, dependent on experience.
- Based in central Edinburgh or London.
- 37.5 hours a week.
