The National Bakery School at London South Bank University seeks a proactive Procurement & Inventory Coordinator who will work closely with academic staff to ensure the smooth delivery of practical baking classes. The candidate will support the lecturing team to manage the day-to-day operations, maintain accurate inventory, handle purchasing, and support the school HACCP food safety system. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity of working within a prestigious training facility in partnership with industry professionals and playing a critical role in the student experience as well as develop a career through cross‑functional collaboration (academics, operations).
The Procurement & Inventory Coordinator will provide proactive support in assisting the National Bakery School’s procurement, inventory, and food‑safety systems. They will work closely with the academic team, forecasting class requirements, sourcing ingredients, bakeware, and safety supplies, and maintaining the HACCP system. They will scan for key supplier opportunities, cultivate excellent relationships with vendors and funding bodies, and ensure compliance with procurement policies and food‑safety regulations. Enhancing operational efficiency through effective stock control, contract management, and collaboration will be an essential part of the role.
About You:
We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:
- Excellent organisational skills.
- An understanding of professional practice within the Baking/Food Sector with extensive knowledge in food costing, operation managing, inventory, traceability systems and HACCP.
- Experience in inventory and procurement processes with the ability to explore supplier partnerships and negotiate effectively
- Familiarity with administrative tasks supporting team operations
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Work ethic and dependability.
The ideal candidate will hold a degree, or possess equivalent relevant experience, be highly motivated and bring a thorough understanding of the professional practice within the Baking/Food Sector with extensive knowledge in procurement and inventory, as well as food safety and HACCP system.
