An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated part time Band 4 Exercise/ Therapy Instructor tojoin the Restart Team at Northampton General Hospital,part of the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire group.

Educations, Training and Qualifications

Essential

• oEducated to GCSE Grade C or equivalent level of education, training or experience
• oNVQ or Certificate in Healthcare or equivalent level of education, training or experience
• oHolds or working towards Exercise Instructor qualification - (eg City and Guilds level 3) with core competencies completed
• oHas or can work towards Wright Foundation Level 4 Pulmonary Rehab Course (2)
• oHolder of a full UK driving licence

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

• oExperience at delivering exercise therapy/ rehabilitation

Desirable

• oExperience of working in a multidisciplinary team
• oExperience in the ordering, maintaining and stocktaking of equipment
• oExperience in continuing and progressing interventions and treatment programmes following assessment by a Qualified Health Professional/ self
• oKnowledge of recent NHS issues especially in relation to Pulmonary Rehabilitation
• oPhysiological knowledge of Respiratory conditions and their effect on an individual's physical capabilities

Skills

Essential

• oAble to undertake manual and therapeutic handling (
• oGood IT skills- working knowledge of Microsoft packages and NHS referral systems

Desirable

• oDatabase skills/ Auditing of a service and collecting data

Key Competencies/Personal Qualities

Essential

• oGood communication skills, written and verbal
