Senior Childcare Lawyer

We are currently partnering with a Local Authority based in Greater Manchester, who are recruiting for a Senior Solicitor to join their Childcare team on a locum basis, for approximately six-months.

This is a full-time position with an hourly rate of approximately £50 - £60 p/hour UMB (can be negotiable based on candidate expectations and PQE), and they are looking for someone to get started as soon as possible.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Providing effective advice and representation on complex legal work and projects
• Managing a caseload of complex, high value and sensitive legal work relating to public and private children law
• Conducting and managing a caseload of legal applications, and providing advice to the client regarding related legislation, regulations and guidance
• Representing the council in contested proceedings, handling all own advocacy
• Building and maintaining excellent client relations, acting as a role model to achieve service and council wide objectives

Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor with a current practicing certificate
• Experience within Childcare/Family law
