The Technology Strategy Core Team is seeking a senior programme manager to drive strategy aligned initiatives which will advance complex, multi-year cross-divisional change objectives - Technical Focus Groups. These initiatives are an integral part of evolving our strategy.
The Technology Strategy Core Team is a highly inter-connected set of functions playing a pivotal role in transforming the overarching technical framework, product delivery and developer enablement teams at Morgan Stanley. The Firm's multi-year Technology Strategy focuses on more effective and innovative technology platforms to enable our business in serving evolving client demands in a highly competitive industry.

The successful candidate will report to the Head of the Architecture & Engineering Office, working with a varied and often senior group of technology stakeholders, including the Distinguished Engineers, Senior Architects, Strategy Theme Leads and many other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
They will have a track record of managing multiple projects / programmes across a variety of technology domains and should be able to work with initial ambiguity, using strong analytical, stakeholder management and influencing skills to build consensus on both scope and approach.
Responsibilities
The ability to work with data to derive and communicate strategic insights is also expected and the ability to understand and build connections across strategic initiatives will be key to success. Excellent organizational skills are a given and candidates should be able to work across geographies, levels and domains. High-level responsibilities will include:
- Drive Technical Focus Groups [establishing where necessary] to develop high-level technical plans & business cases for multi-year investment in strategic objectives.
- Work across the Tech Strategy Core Team to bring together relevant data, metrics and commercials in support of each initiative.
- Identifying interconnections across the organization, looking at additional opportunities for acceleration of value, optimization and consistency.
- Identify and agree ownership of ongoing execution, transitioning approved initiatives to the accountable group / team.
- Track and report on realized value across the lifecycle of the initiative / business case, working with the execution team to remain aligned on progress, dependencies and risks.
- Develop, maintain and present materials to update stakeholders, also contributing to broader Technology Strategy presentation
- Support the function lead [& Tech Strategy Core Team] reviewing and contributing to the broader set of business cases raised to Technology Investment Governance
- Support the function lead during the annual Technology Strategy Refinement process.
Required Skills
- Strong organizational skills, with significant project / programme management experience across a variety of technology projects
- Well-developed stakeholder management skills at all levels of the organization, including working with technical SMEs
- Ability to manipulate and synthesize data, presenting analysis and insights to management
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, able to produce high quality content
- A broad understanding of technology, with some depth or background in one or more domains
- An appreciation of how the Technology divisions deliver value to the business
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a global organization
- The successful candidate will have 10+ years' experience, ideally in a large enterprise environment
- Desired Skills
- Financial Services or Professional Services experience preferred
- Knowledge of Agile practices & / or Project Management certifications a plus
- Strategy / Consulting profiles with broad technology experience could be strong candidates
- Power user in 0365 suite - specifically PowerPoint, Excel, Teams
