Job Description

  • Job Title – Tax Assistant Manager/Manager
  • Location - Norwich
  • Job Type - Permanent – Full Time – Onsite

Role overview

This is a unique opportunity to join a leading national advisory firm which is seeking to expand its tax specialist services in the East of England, supporting continuing growth across its business pillars.

Key Responsibilities

  • We are seeking a fully or partly qualified tax professional to assist with the provision of tax services across various pillars of our business, being corporate finance, forensic services, financial advisory and general practice.
  • The role requires someone with strong technical, organisational, commercial and personal skills, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate that they can work seamlessly and effectively across various teams and with project leads, across the various business pillars.
  • We are looking for an ambitious advisor who is equally comfortable providing tax compliance and advisory services.
  • You should be comfortable working within a wider team, whereby the provision of tax services is ancillary, albeit critical to the delivery of a broader service offering.
  • The main thrust of the role will relate to tax transactional services as part of the corporate finance team. This will include advising on the sale of owner managed businesses to trade buyers, private equity backed purchasers, management teams and employee ownership trusts. You will also be required to advise on employee incentive schemes such as EMI and growth shares, and any tax valuation experience would be positive.
  • In addition, you will support a small forensic services team with the preparation of single joint expert reports, predominately for the benefit of the Courts. This will require the ability to provide clear written analysis in relation to both simple and complex tax issues.
  • We have a growing financial advisory services pillar, providing financial due diligence support to lenders and buyers. Many of these projects require tax due diligence input, so any previous experience in providing such services would be favourable.
  • Finally, we also provide accounting and tax compliance services to a strong sub-audit owner managed business client base. The selected candidate will form a key part of this team, providing tax compliance and advisory services to both personal and corporate clients. Experience of providing inheritance tax and trust advice would be desirable.
  • We are seeking a candidate at Assistant Manager/Manager grade but will consider candidates at more senior grades.
  • You will work alongside the existing Tax Director, reporting to them and the local Partner group.

Qualifications

  • ACCA / ACA part qualified, fully qualified or equivalent.
