Are you a skilled Technical Author with a passion for precision and clarity? Join a leading defence engineering organisation and play a key role in delivering high-quality technical documentation that supports the safe operation and maintenance of cutting-edge equipment.

What You’ll Do

• Produce and amend technical documentation in SGML/XML formats (S1000D-compliant)
• Work across the full product lifecycle – from design to in-service support
• Collaborate with engineering teams (ILS, LSA, Commercial) to gather and translate complex technical data
• Apply Simplified Technical English (STE) and author in Data Module format
• Use tools like Arbortext Editor, FrameMaker, and CSDB systems

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience in technical authorship within Defence, Aerospace, Automotive, or Heavy Industry
• Strong knowledge of MoD standards (ASD S1000D, AESP)
• Proficiency with SGML/XML editing tools and desktop publishing systems
• HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (Degree desirable)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects independently
