Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, full time; split shift 07:15-10:45 and 14:30-17:45.

Worker Type: Offsite Worker

Salary: The Starting Salary is £25,992 (Level one), rising to £26,835 (Level three) per annum (pro rata for part-time).

Location: Woolsthorpe Depot NG8 3JP

About The Role

To maintain passenger comfort while providing transport to and from Special Educational Schools and Day Centres. Providing care, responsive and effective support whilst driving passengers with physical, mental and /or developmental disabilities.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Ability to ensure the vehicle is fit for the route to be undertaken and complies with the department's maintenance programme. Ensuring that the daily 1st use check is completed, and that the tail lift is correctly operated. That all wheelchairs are secured properly and in compliance with the training provided.
  • Ability to liaise with both Passenger Assistants, parents/carers and other professional people you come in contact with, reporting any issues/ concerns to the office as soon as possible.
  • Comply with the principles of standard infection control protocols at all times to prevent the spread of infection.
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence with a D1 category (or cat D).
  • This role requires manual handling of people, such as pushing wheelchairs, supporting ambulant passengers with mobility issues, supporting passengers while using the vehicle's tail lift, and securing wheelchairs on board the vehicle.

A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
