About The Business Unit
The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. Together with our clients, we’re helping to deliver the energy transition globally.
Overview Of Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an account leader to support the business development activities in our hydropower team.
This is a BD focused role to help grow our hydropower and pumped storage business in Europe, Africa and Latin America through stronger customer relationships and customer focused delivery. This will be supplemented with supporting in project leadership and delivery to help build key relationships with our customers.
Responsibilities Include
- Supporting the principal account leader in delivering the wider BD strategy for hydropower and pumped storage
- Revenue growth and managing cost of sales for a defined programme
- Preparation and implementation of market plans, customer management plans and prospect capture plans
- Input into our wind and/or solar energy sub-sector strategies
- Influencing customer focused project delivery
- Working with the hydropower resource manager to define project resource / skill needs
- Customer based project work with increasing focus on portfolio delivery
- Supporting delivery of the hydropower and pumped storage business plan actions
Candidate specification
- Relevant engineering degree (mechanical, electrical, civil, industrial engineering) or similar qualification
- International hydropower and pumped storage industry experience, delivering large projects
- Experience of working at a senior level in an energy consultancy or in a relevant industry
- A track record of developing value proposition including budgeting for winning technical and commercial proposals for major opportunities
- Ability to influence decision making at a senior level including effective collaboration between various departments/units
- Commercial experience of project delivery from implementing consultancy services
- Excellent communication and client facing skills with a strong customer focused approach
