The role.
The role reports to the Junior Financial Controller and is responsible for end-to-end management of Transactional Accounting including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions of the business, acting as a partner for business owners.
Day-to-day responsibilities.
- Driving improvements of transactional and billing processes with several cross functional teams including Finance, Procurement & Sales.
- Automation of AP/AR processes within Netsuite including PO implementation, automatic bank feeds and providing insightful reporting.
- Establishing relationships with business owners helping to promptly sort out queries they may have with any customer and supplier issues.
- Overseeing the end-to-end AP/AR process from supplier and customer onboarding, to invoice processing, approvals and payment runs.
- Full reconciliations of AP and AR ledgers including system matching, ageing review and vendor and customer management.
- Responsible for inter-company transactions reconciliations and daily cash transfers, working closely with the Treasury department including FX transactions.
- Ownership of all credit cards transactions and employee expenses process.
- Assisting with audit queries relating to all these processes.
- Direct line management of the Accounts Payable Assistant.
We’re looking for...
- Proven experience in Transactions, AP/AR function, preferably in a start-up or rapidly growing organisation
- Experience with Netsuite is critical
- Being able to critically evaluate the existing processes, suggest improvements and implement within the business
- Ability to quickly build relationships with both business owners and external parties
- Excellent communicator who is comfortable leading the transactional services function
- Great team player working within the Finance function
- Proficient at Excel including v-lookups and pivot tables
- Comfortable with multi-currency transactions
- Understanding of UK VAT rules including reverse charge
