About the role:

This role will be working in the UK finance team, assisting the Management Accountant with various functions within the Sales Ledger. This role will be working in the UK finance team, assisting the Management Accountant with various functions within the Sales Ledger.

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, your responsibility will be to:

  • Uploading of new customers into Navision, including the appropriate credit checks, international and banking compliance checks on all new customers, and request credit limits from the bank.
  • Banking of all incoming customer cash into the circa 30+ bank accounts
  • Assist Management Accountant with setting up of all payments (GBP/EUR/USD/SGD)
  • Weekly production of the aged debt analysis for line manager
  • Chasing outstanding debts in a timely manner
  • Improve and implement debt collection processes when there are any overdue invoices or payments and escalate any bad debts to the line manager.
  • Assist with maintaining all aspects of the Invoice Finance facility (reporting, monthly reconciliations, annual audit & queries)
  • Working with the Management Accountant for the reporting of any overdue debt to HSBC to ensure that our credit protection is maintained in the event of a customer defaulting
  • Approving requests to release orders.

Your skills & experience:

  • AAT qualification ideal or working towards qualification
  • Excellent communication skills in being able to communicate upwards & at all levels
  • Good numerously skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own workload.
  • Proactive in being able to follow up on tasks
  • Good decision-making skills
  • Banking experience
  • Previous work experience in an Accounts Receivable role
  • SME experience
  • Working with foreign currency
