Are you looking to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment where your contribution is really valued? Are you keen to develop your career within a global law firm with clear progression opportunities? Then this could be the role for you.

We're looking for an Associate to join our highly successful Financial Services (Debt Finance) team in our London office. This is an exciting time to join SPB, as we continue to grow our international FS practice.

Our Firm

Squire Patton Boggs is one of the world's strongest integrated law firms, committed to providing insight at the point where law, business and government meet. We deliver commercially focused business solutions by combining our legal, lobbying and political capabilities and invaluable connections on the ground to a diverse mix of clients, from long-established leading corporations to emerging businesses, start-up visionaries and sovereign nations.

More than 1,500 lawyers operating in 40+ offices across four continents provide unrivalled access to expertise. In the UK, we have offices in Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, and London.

The firm is committed to promoting a collaborative and supportive working environment. Embedded by local champions in each of our UK offices, our well-regarded family and carer, wellbeing and workplace culture and development programmes provide a variety of flexible working options to support individuals' life journeys, helping our people pursue their personal and professional goals.

Our Team

Our Financial Services group has proven strength through its global presence and breadth of cross-border financing and collateral expertise. From our offices throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia, our team members offer the seamless service necessary for both multi-jurisdictional and local clients.

Our Acquisition Finance practice works with private equity firms, corporate borrowers, banks, and alternative capital providers to support a diverse array of domestic and international financial transactions. Our expertise includes leveraged buyouts, financing in support of M&A activity, refinancings, stressed/distressed financing, and other event-driven finance work for investors and finance providers. We regularly work side-by-side with our market-leading UK and EMEA private equity practice.

Our Opportunity

You will be working with extremely well-respected partners nationally and internationally, being part of a team that encourages personal skills development and growth, and which we believe really stands out from the rest of the market.

You will have the opportunity to get involved in a varied workload with plenty of scope for direct client contact. The role will suit an outstanding lawyer with a commercial attitude along with a confident and proactive approach, with good people skills, the ability to work as a team player and evidence of ability to network

You

We're looking for someone with between 3 - 5 years' post-qualification experience working across a range of financing transactions. Your focus will be corporate and acquisition finance, but as we value fully-rounded finance expertise, experience of real estate finance and/or asset-based lending would be a bonus.

You will be coming from astrong national or international practice and will have excellent academics. You will be motivated and eager to develop long-lasting relationships, both internally and with clients, intermediaries and other firms in our market. Our associates work closely with our clients and other advisors so good communication skills are essential.
