Role Responsibility

Please note: this role is part time (18.5 hours per week, to be worked over three or four days by agreement) and is currently offered on a fixed term basis for two years (until January 2027).

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and committed Administration Officer to join the Children’s Commissioning team, which is part of KCC’s Children, Young People and Education directorate. You will be part of a dedicated Commissioning team with an established portfolio of work, led and managed by a Senior Commissioner, as well as providing cross-team administrative support under the supervision of a Commissioning Assistant.

To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who will be:

  • Highly organised, flexible and able to prioritise work to meet the needs of their team(s)
  • Skilled and knowledgeable about computer systems, and/or demonstrably able to learn new systems quickly, including the core Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Able to take accurate, high quality minutes during meetings, both in person and online
  • A good and proactive team player, willing to challenge and be challenged.
