Main duties of the job
- Work as a clinical sonographer, delivering a high-quality ultrasound service in accordance with departmental protocols and national standards.
- Act as an effective and professional member of the Radiology Department, providing a high standard of imaging and patient care at all times.
- Independently manage ultrasound patient lists, including performing and reporting on a variety of ultrasound examinations (e.g., obstetrics, gynaecology, general).
- Ensure accurate, clear, and timely documentation and communication of findings to support appropriate clinical management.
- Support and contribute to clinical audit, quality assurance, and service improvement activities.
- Assist in the supervision, mentorship, and development of trainee sonographers, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain patient dignity, safety, and confidentiality throughout the imaging process
- Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain and enhance clinical competence
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and participate in departmental meetings and initiatives.
