We welcome candidates with experience in any of these areas, from newly qualified to experienced practitioners. A structured induction programme will support your transition, including mentorship, familiarisation with protocols, and site visits.

Main duties of the job


  • Work as a clinical sonographer, delivering a high-quality ultrasound service in accordance with departmental protocols and national standards.
  • Act as an effective and professional member of the Radiology Department, providing a high standard of imaging and patient care at all times.
  • Independently manage ultrasound patient lists, including performing and reporting on a variety of ultrasound examinations (e.g., obstetrics, gynaecology, general).
  • Ensure accurate, clear, and timely documentation and communication of findings to support appropriate clinical management.
  • Support and contribute to clinical audit, quality assurance, and service improvement activities.
  • Assist in the supervision, mentorship, and development of trainee sonographers, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Maintain patient dignity, safety, and confidentiality throughout the imaging process
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain and enhance clinical competence
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and participate in departmental meetings and initiatives.
