Successful candidates will be supported to complete the L3 Science Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship as well as a Pre & In-Process Checking Accreditation.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
This post is based at Adanac Aseptic Hub, our newly built Aseptic Unit. The role involves contributing to the accurate preparation, checking and supply of IV antibiotics (CIVAs), Parenteral Nutrition (PN), Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT) and Clinical Trials and Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP). Full training and support for completing competencies will be provided.
The successful candidate will have responsibilities for stock control, including ordering and maintaining levels of stock to ensure there is no disruption or delay to the supply of medicine.
Once the post holder has achieved their Pre & In Process Checking Accreditation, they will be required to support the on call service rota.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can demonstrate good attention to detail and self-motivation. Strong team work and communication skills are essential for working in Pharmacy Aseptics as well as the ability the follow procedures.

Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience
Essential criteria
- Numerate and literate e.g., GCSE in Maths and English Grade 5-9 or equivalent
- HNC (or equivalent experience) in a science-based subject OR 2 A level passes in a science subject OR BTEC level 3 in a science subject OR equivalent knowledge and experience of pharmaceutical procedures gained through work experience and training Experience of using stock management computer systems
- Level 2 certificate in relevant Pharmacy services or able to commit to completing within 15 months of being in post
- Able to start the L3 Science Manufacturing Technician apprenticeship within 18 months of being in post.
- Aseptic services experience or laboratory-based procedures experience
- Significant supervisory experience
Desirable criteria
- Pre and In Process checking qualification (PIPC) or achievable within 18 months of appointment
- Experience of using stock management computer systems
- Experience of ordering and stock control
