Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum depending on skills & experience.

We are looking for a
African-Eurasian Flyway Coordinator to lead the development and implementation of BirdLife’s work for the conservation of migratory birds, in collaboration with our regional offices and partners across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and Central Asia.
How you will do this:
- Coordinating the implementation of the BirdLife Conservation Strategy for the Eastern part of the African-Eurasian Flyway.
- Supporting the implementation of the BirdLife East Atlantic Flyway Initiative (EAFI).
- Aligning BirdLife's strategic activities across the eastern and western regions of the African-Eurasian Flyway and establishing and managing structures for cross-regional governance and information sharing.
- Leading the GBP 3 million project of RSPB and BirdLife in the Eastern part of African-Eurasian Flyway, including development of budgeted workplans, oversight of implementation and high-quality reporting to donors.
- Developing fundraising proposals in line with the BirdLife Conservation Strategy and the Flyways Programme's 5-year plan.
- Leading, supporting, and coordinating the development of project workplans, including budgets, timelines and teams.
- Promoting BirdLife’s work and advocating our positions to relevant stakeholders, including through media and at high-level policy advocacy events.
- Supporting project teams in delivering agreed tasks.
Ideally you will have:
- MSc degree (or equivalent working experience) in a nature conservation relevant subject.
- At least 10 years’ experience in developing and managing large-scale nature conservation programmes, preferably in Africa, the Middle East, and/or Europe & Central Asia.
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of issues relating to migratory bird conservation and sympathy with NGO movement.
- Strong background in driving collaboration of diverse groups of stakeholders.
- Proven track record as proactive leader of dedicated teams.
- Ability to manage and motivate diverse teams, often remotely.
- Demonstrable experience and successes in fundraising.
- Excellent organisation skills, ability to track, prioritise and work to multiple deadlines.
- Programme and/or Project management training qualification would be ideal.
