About The Role

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic, playworker to work in our After-School Provision.

You will be working with children across the age range 3-11 years,

You will be required to assist in the daily care of children attending the provision from 3.00 – 6.00pm (set-up 3.00-3.30), providing a nutritious snack and engaging activities.

You will need:

  • Good communication skills and experience working with children
  • Patience and willingness to be flexible
  • Be caring and friendly
  • Have a commitment to inclusion
  • Be creative, flexible and passionate about play
  • Be organised and hard working
  • A good sense of humour and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Enthusiasm and dedication to caring and supporting pupil’s activities


Duties:

  • Be responsible to the After-School Club Lead and Head Teacher.
  • Keep a daily register and t o work face to face with the children registered with the club.
  • Collect fees from parents
  • Purchase food & drinks
  • Talk to the children, encouraging conversation, help maintain a safe and stimulating play environment and to assist with developing opportunities which encourage children’s social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development through play.
  • Provide activities for the children eg, board games, arts, crafts.
  • To assist with the planning, preparing and delivery of activities, which meet children’s individual developmental needs.
  • To prepare and supervise tea time refreshments for the children, ensuring they are healthy and varied
  • To follow guidelines and procedures for Safeguarding
  • To carry out any other duties, which will be seen to enhance the work of the After-School Club.
