We are multi-disciplinary experts working on UK and international projects to create successful ports and maritime infrastructure worldwide. We have delivered expert commercial, technical, and operational advice for port projects across five continents and provided exceptional technical support to our clients in the UK.

Role Context:

Royal HaskoningDHV has been delivering asset management services to The Crown Estate for over four decades. For The Crown Estate’s marine minerals, cables, and pipeline portfolios, this involves overseeing financial, commercial, operational, and technical activities across most of the seabed in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. As the Managing Agent, you will lead a team of seven professionals, providing expert advice, consultancy, and asset management to our valued client, The Crown Estate.

Job Role:

  • Lead a Team: Manage a well-established team in the Brighton office, ensuring we continue to deliver excellent services to our client.
  • Financial Oversight: Oversee authorisations, forecasting, and budget management for minerals, cables, and pipelines/interconnectors to ensure accurate and effective financial returns.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with associates and sub-consultants who play a key role in the successful delivery of our services.
  • Meeting Participation: Lead and/or participate in regular internal and external meetings, including weekly and monthly sessions with TCE members, Asset Management meetings, and discussions with minerals companies and legal teams.
  • License Renewal Support: Support TCE in the renewal of licenses, including tender applications, variation agreements, and third-party access arrangements.
  • Project Development: Provide commercial oversight, develop, and manage additional projects aligned with TCE’s strategic objectives.
  • Expert Advice: Act as the primary internal source of technical, operational, and commercial advice on marine minerals for RHDHV to support portfolio management.
  • Policy Contribution: Contribute to policy, strategy, and business planning activities in collaboration with the client.

This Role Might Be Right for You If:

  • You have experience managing a well-established team or can prove you are capable of managing a team, ensuring timely, accurate, and diligent delivery of work.
  • You understand accounts receivable processes and are comfortable reporting financial results.
  • You have experience working with legal agreements.
  • You hold a degree and have at least five years of relevant experience.
  • You have knowledge of the marine minerals sector or the building materials industry.
  • You understand aggregate resource identification and permitting within the UK, preferably in the marine sector.

Location:

This hybrid role is based in our Brighton office, with a mix of client visits, office days, and remote working. The office is within walking distance of central Brighton and has on-site parking. It is also conveniently located between Brighton’s central and Preston Park train stations. The role includes occasional travel to the client’s offices in central London and to their customers across the UK and nearby European countries, periodically.
