Job Description
This role forms a critical part of the overall control function, acting as a central point of engineering excellence and providing a consultation service and management of engineering incidents. For major incidents, or those having a significant operational impact, the ADE is responsible for providing business continuity and incident response, as well as implementing recovery plans and contingencies. Furthermore, the ADE will lead and influence internal and external stakeholders, frontline teams, and suppliers to accomplish shared objectives whilst maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.
This is a shift-based role consisting of 12 hour shifts with a mixture of earlies and lates.
Your role will involve
- Playing an integral part of Heathrow’s operational command and control function by Monitoring and controlling a vast array of critical systems.
- Providing incident response by leading the engineering team on-site at incidents that potentially threaten life, property, and interruption to the business whilst liaising with internal operational senior managers.
- Responsible for providing business continuity by instigating key contingency and recovery plans.
- Acting as a Control Engineer, Senior Authorised Person, and Authorised Person on various systems for both UK Power Networks Services (UKPNS) and Heathrow, ensuring that all regulations and safe systems of work are adhered to.
- Acquiring and maintaining specialist authorisations achieved through frequent training courses and assessments.
- Supporting and nurturing talent within the engineering team. Providing inspirational leadership, coaching and mentoring to develop internal and external colleagues in accordance with each safe systems of work.
These Skills Are Essential
- City and Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3, HNC or above in an appropriate Engineering discipline.
- Experienced in communicating and influencing all levels of the organisation, dealing professionally with colleagues, customers, and business partners.
- Full UK driving license and ability to obtain an airside driving licence.
- Appointed as an Authorised Person or higher within a safe system of work.
