Brief Description

X2 Analysis Year in Industry Placements (Start 01 st September 2025 to 31 st of July 2026)

Our year in industry placement schemes are designed for students who are still currently studying towards their degree and need to spend a year in industry as part of their course. Candidates who have already graduated or are due to graduate before the start of the scheme are not eligible for these schemes and should consider applying for one of our graduate schemes instead.

About The Role (External)

Finance / Train Performance Year in Industry

Working alongside some of the most respected professionals in the industry, you’ll gain valuable experience across a range of disciplines, such as reporting and analysis, producing periodic insight and train performance analysis. You could even be considered for our graduate scheme.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will undertake 2 or 3 placements working as an Assistant analyst across the finance Insights & Analysis team and the Train performance teams contributing to reporting, insights, and projects. You’ll also have the opportunity to take part in analyst forums and shadowing.

At the end of your placement, we’ll ask you to put together a short presentation to reflect on your experiences and help improve the scheme for future intakes.

Who You Are Matters

You’ll need to be in your penultimate year at university, and on track to achieve at least a 2:1 in one of the following degree subjects – Mathematics, Computer/Data Science or Business Analytics.

We’re looking for hardworking, driven individuals with an analytical mindset and a flair for working with data. You should be enthusiastic about your work, enjoy collaborating with others and be confident in communicating with people of all levels.
