We have an exciting opportunity for an
Analytical Engineer (Plant Performance) to join Rolls-Royce Submarines.
Reporting to the Analytical Engineering Group Lead, you will be responsible for technical and programme delivery of performance models and analyses for the entire Micro-Reactor plant to enable, concept generation, feasibility studies, support high level requirement decisions, low level requirement generation and Safety case analysis. The role requires experience in the development of thermal/hydraulic performance models, and this will be applied to the context of the development of a fully integrated product solution in accordance with requirements flowed down from the Novel Nuclear programme.

What You Will Be Doing
Reporting to the Analytical Engineering Group Lead, you will be responsible for technical and programme delivery of performance models and analyses for the entire Micro-Reactor plant to enable:
- Produce and analyse thermal/hydraulic performance models of Micro-Reactor systems, and apply technical judgement to elicit design recommendations.
- Utilise generalist knowledge from across disciplines to undertake analysis of the entire Micro-Reactor plant under different applications.
- Extract sub-system requirements, plan tasks and technical risks effectively, and track performance against key milestones.
- Deliver analyses in line with best practice and to standard policies and processes that exist within the Micro Reactor modelling and analytics framework.
- Manage technical interfaces to ensure that a coherent technical solution is achieved and support to the analytical technical leads in planning and prioritising activities to ensure on time delivery, cost and quality is achieved for all project deliverables.

- Qualified to degree level or equivalent in an engineering or related discipline.
- Knowledge of whole reactor systems design, operations, etc.
- Proven capability to deliver modelling and analytical activities programmes to time, cost and quality with multiple years of thermal-hydraulic analysis experience.
- Critical thinking of reactor plant/Brayton transients and associated phenomena.
- Experience in using Reactor Plant design and analysis codes such as RELAP, COBRA, GOTHIC, or SAM, MOOSE-based applications with prior experience of software languages such as Python, MATLAB, C++, NPSS.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to
