The Application Specialist is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of enterprise applications that support our business operations and strategy. This IT leadership role ensures that the organization’s application portfolio aligns with business needs, enhances user experience, and drives digital transformation. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, leadership experience, and a strategic mindset.

And as a Application Specialist with Bellrock, you’ll do it by…

• Develop and execute application strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of applications, from selection and implementation to maintenance and upgrades.
• Manage and lead a team of application managers and analysts.
• Collaborate with business units to identify application needs and drive innovation.
• Ensure the security, scalability, and efficiency of business applications.
• Optimize system integrations to improve data flow and business processes.
• Lead the modernization of legacy systems and adoption of new technologies.
• Establish and enforce application governance, policies, and best practices.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for third-party software solutions.
• Monitor application performance and ensure high availability, reliability, and user satisfaction.
• Stay updated on emerging trends in enterprise applications, cloud computing, and digital transformation.
  
  

What does it take?

If you’re ready to be the energy that helps us build our business, share our success, and really own it as a Application Specialist, you’ll need…

• 6+ years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years in a role managing applications.
• Experience with cloud-based applications and SaaS solutions.
• Knowledge of system integration, APIs, and data management.
• Proven track record of leading digital transformation initiatives.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Knowledge of IT governance, compliance, and security best practices.
• Certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Familiarity with AI, automation, and analytics tools.
  
  

Working arrangements

We embrace smarter working practices which offer our employees the opportunity to work their hours flexibly and remotely where their roles and business needs allow. In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work between your home address and the Leicester Head Office, LE1 6LP Monday to Friday 08:30-17:00.
